DISRUPTION RIESLING 2018WINE: Our 2018 Riesling is complete with the spritely but rich mouthfeel. This bottling gives us everything we love about this grape. Bright lemon, lime, and minerality are the focused flavors in this wine, while still offering a hint of sweetness and fruit -- the hallmarks of a great Washington State Riesling. This is an outstanding complement to spicy cuisines. The grapes are whole-cluster pressed directly to a stainless steel tank. The juice is fermented at cold temperatures for a two month period, preserving the remarkable aromatics in the fruit.
VINEYARD: The fruit for this wine comes from the famed Evergreen Vineyard in the Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley AVA. Grown at 1,400 feet elevation and planted in 1997, the vines are planted in fine sand along with silt, sandy loam, and layers of caliche. The Evergreen Vineyard was planted by the Milbrandt family before Ancient Lakes was even on the map as an AVA in Washington State. Pioneers in the wine-growing business, they felt that the terroir of this area would produce wines with bright acid and great complexity. One of the coolest growing regions in the state, Evergreen vineyard provides us the perfect spot for nurturing this wine to express its classic flavor profile. ART: All of our labels are from Artists who have worked with Urban Artworks, which is a non-profit youth empowerment project in Seattle. Their mission is to build community by connecting young people and emerging artists to communities, opportunities, new skills, accomplishment, and possibility. We proudly donate a dollar a case to Urban Artworks. This label is a replica of a mural by artist Megan Lingerfelt. Her art focuses on clean realism and intricate details in saturated tones.
